Seamless Replacement of Large-Scale Virtualization Platform for a Global E-Commerce Leader
Zero-Risk Core Business Migration · Multi-Site Deployment & Unified Management · Consistent User Experience

A global leader in online fashion and lifestyle retail, operating over 100 logistics and warehousing centers , was facing mounting cost pressures as VMware subscription fees continued to rise. After extensive evaluation, the company adopted ZStack ZSphere to support its digital transformation and flexible supply chain systems, achieving both cost savings and enhanced business agility.

With ZStack ZSphere, the company deployed a centralized management node at its headquarters, while each regional facility implemented its own ZStack ZSphere instance. These sites were connected to headquarters via dedicated lines or VPN, forming a centrally managed virtualization resource pool spanning more than 100 physical nodes. The new architecture retained the original design, leveraged local storage to build the virtualization platform, and supported legacy hardware reuse with smooth migration—effectively controlling capital expenditure.

Customer Benefits

1.Consistent User Experience with Customizable Interface
ZStack ZSphere delivers a user experience consistent with VMware vSphere, enabling VMware virtualization users to operate without additional training. It supports flexible UI interface with adjustable layout modules that allow free resizing of width and height, right-click VM operations, and clearly defined hierarchical resource relationships—ensuring ease of use and a seamless transition.

2.Legacy Hardware Reuse to reduce TCO
Leveraging existing servers of various models, ZStack ZSphere enables legacy hardware reuse and smooth migration. The platform utilizes local storage to build the virtualization environment, significantly reducing IT costs. It also supports on-demand expansion of compute and storage resources to ensure both reliability and flexibility for core business systems.

3.Multi-Site Deployment with Centralized Management
The company’s IT team operates from headquarters, using the central management platform to monitor and manage all regional data centers. This includes tasks such as VM upgrades and remote operations, significantly streamlining processes and improving overall management efficiency.

4.Batch Operations & Intelligent Maintenance
ZStack ZSphere supports batch operations for VM creation, configuration, and change management. Administrators can quickly search and maintain resources by name, type, or date, building a standardized operations asset pool that enhances management efficiency while reducing manual labor costs.
