Recently, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Commercial Sub-Council (CCPIT Commercial Sub-Council) announced the release of the group standard “Guidelines for Technical Communication Services” (Announcement No. [2025] 280). The standard (designated as T/CCPITCSC 185—2025), jointly drafted by a consortium of organizations including Shanghai Yunzhou Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ZStack), Hisense Home Appliances Group Co., Ltd., China Association for Standardization Trade in Services Branch, China Productivity Center for Machinery Co., Ltd., Xuzhou XCMG Excavator Machinery Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co., Ltd., Yutong Bus Co., Ltd., Great Wall Motor Company Limited, Hisense Visual Technology Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Dana Axle Co., Ltd., and Capital University of Economics and Business, has been officially approved and will enter into force on December 21, 2025.

Proposed and administered by the CCPIT Commercial Sub-Council, the standard was developed under the leadership of the Technical Communication Professional Committee in collaboration with multiple enterprises and institutions. Since its official initiation in 2023, the Committee has convened numerous expert seminars, solicited feedback comprehensively across industry, academia, research, and application sectors, and completed multiple rounds of revisions and review meetings, ultimately finalizing the draft for approval. The standard outlines the general principles for technical communication services, provides a framework for the technical communication system, and offers actionable recommendations on service entities, practitioner qualifications, workflows, service scope definition, and project management, laying a foundation to address industry challenges.

Against the backdrop of deepening digital economy development and accelerated advancement of new industrialization during China’s “15th Five-Year Plan” period, industries nationwide are experiencing explosive growth in demand for the efficient transmission and industrial application of technical information. Technical communication, serving as the critical link bridging scientific and technological achievements with industrial application, as well as enterprises with end-users, sees its standardization level directly impacting the market competitiveness and innovation efficacy of domestic technological products. However, China’s technical communication sector still faces challenges such as uneven service capabilities, barriers to cross-domain collaboration, and unclear pathways for intelligent transformation. Addressing these challenges stands as the core impetus for this standard.

As a pioneer in technical documentation practices within the cloud computing domain, ZStack participated in the standard’s formulation as a contributing drafting organization. It translated its accumulated best practices in building cloud product documentation system, developing multi-scenario user manuals, and applying intelligent documentation tools into substantive content within the standard, thereby facilitating the elevation of “corporate practice into industry norm.” During the drafting and revision process, ZStack’s recommendations on core issues such as “terminology consistency,” “product lifecycle definition,” “application of AI tools,” and “service process optimization” were adopted.

Looking ahead to the standard’s official implementation on December 21, 2025, ZStack will take the lead in fully aligning its own technical communication system with the standard’s provisions, thereby assisting more enterprises in enhancing their technical communication capabilities. In the future, ZStack will continue to delve deeply into innovation for the intelligent and international development of technical documentation, actively participate in discussions on international standards for technical communication, contribute more “ZStack solutions” to the high-quality development of China’s technical communication industry, and promote the alignment of domestic industry norms with international practices.
